TRESSEMANN & VOGT (T&V) started as a company in the porcelain decorating and exporting business during the early 1880s. It did not start manufacturing porcelain until 1891. Limoges is an area in France blessed with the quality of natural clay deposits that go into making the hard paste porcelain.

The green mark "T&V" in the rectangle over “Limoges, France” is an underglaze white ware (manufacturer/firing) mark used by the firm ca. 1892-1907, probably the latter part of this period
